
Illustrator
is an artist who is specialized in providing a visual representation of any
kind of writing, which may be in form of newspaper article, story, poem, etc.
An illustrator can precisely give the description of writing into a single
picture or graphic. The purpose of an illustration is to clear the complicated
concepts or vague ideas that are difficult to describe in text or writing.
Moreover, an illustration can easily catch the attention of any person. An
illustration is used in newspapers, encyclopaedia, magazines, books,
advertisements, websites, posters, mechanical field, technical field,
architectural field and much more.
Traditionally an
illustrator used the techniques such as sketches, wood engraving, oil painting,
water colour painting, etc. for creating an illustration. Nowadays, an

Max - a software applications developed by Autodesk Media and Entertainment
that is frequently used by TV commercial studios, video game developers and
architectural visualization studios to create various respective illustrations.
Additionally, this application is also used to make 3d animation and models.
b. Cinema 4D -
developed by MAXON Computer GmbH, is a multi platform application that is
capable of creating an illustration, which is able to give an illusion of three
dimensional effects. Additionally, the software is also capable of animating,
modelling, lighting, texturing and rendering.
c. CityEngine -
an application developed by Esri is specialized in creating three dimensional
urban environments. An illustrator uses this software to create descriptive 3D
city illustrations. It is multi platform and easy to use software generally
used for architecture, archaeology and urban planning.
d. Autodesk
Inventor - a software application developed by U.S. based company Autodesk.
It's a 3D mechanical designing software suite that is used to create an
illustration of various industrial products. The software is also used to
illustrate various automobile models.
e. Autodesk Maya
- a software developed by Autodesk Inc. that is used to create various
illustration for video games, animated films and TV series. The application has
a wide range of plug-ins that is used to add various effects in the
illustration such as fluids, particles, lighting and much more.
f. Modo - it is
developed by Luxology and runs on Microsoft Windows & Mac OS X. It
incorporates various 3D painting features that include airbrush, blur, smudge,
clone, and much more. These features enable an illustrator to create precise
and demonstrative images from a written content.
Apart from the
above mentioned software applications; there are many other applications that
an illustrator uses these days to create accurate and demonstrative images from
written contents for any field.
